Description
Read it. Hear it. Or follow the words on the page while Rula Lenska reads them aloud.
The bundle brings together the illustrated ebook and the complete audiobook of Little Steps and the Quest for the 3 Symbols (Part One) — and it costs less than buying the two separately.
Why choose the bundle
- Read along together — young readers can follow each haiku on the page as they listen, which makes the rhythm of the verse easy to hear.
- A story for every moment — the ebook for bedtime, the audiobook for the car, the kitchen or a quiet afternoon.
- Words, pictures and voice — Lorra Ley’s illustrations and Rula Lenska’s narration, side by side.
The story
Told entirely in haiku — the disciplined 5-7-5 verse where every word is a purposeful step — this is a timeless Egyptian fairy tale, presented as a long-lost text unearthed from ancient scrolls.
Ten-year-old Little Steps fears his name is holding him back from greatness. Set in the mystical age of Pharaoh Hatshepsut, he journeys up and down the Nile to find and unite three sacred symbols: the Staff, balance of the body; the Flail, balance of the mind; and the Crook, balance of the emotions. Part One is the quest for the first symbol, the Staff.
He does not travel alone. Red Brick, a gentle giant from Thebes, is always ready with a shoulder ride. Axiom, a wise centaur, is a master of nonsense. And Lapis, a young vulture, is finding her true colours along the way.
