Join Little Steps, a young Egyptian boy and his 3 extraordinary friends: Red Brick, the Giant, Axiom, the Centaur and Lapis, the Vulture as they travel up and down the Nile to find and unite the 3 Symbols of ancient Egypt.
The story revolves around Little Steps, a ten-year-old Egyptian boy living during the reign of Pharaoh Hatshepsut. With his three incredible friends by his side, Little Steps is ready to take on the unique challenges he must face as part of this age-old tradition.
Little Steps embarks on the quest to unite the Staff, Flail, and Crook, which are the three symbols of ancient Egypt. This quest is a coming-of-age journey. Little Steps must learn to balance his body, mind, and emotions, which are symbolically represented by the three symbols.
Little Steps learns to overcome his fear of not achieving his goal, by understanding the importance of embracing the meaning of his own name by taking purposeful little steps. On the journey he also learns that the key to uniting the three symbols is not just achieving balance in any given moment, but maintaining it. Little Steps has a secret weapon – he pays attention!
Red Brick is a giant from Thebes and the tallest of Little Steps’ friends – always ready to give Little Steps a shoulder ride when speed is the key. Red Brick is dressed in elegant splendour and with his height really stands out!
Red Brick loves nothing more than a race against Axiom – though you’ll need to be brave to declare the winner! Red Brick reminds Little Steps to step up whenever he faces challenges. He wears his emotions on his sleeve – always ready to make the team laugh.
Red Brick is a member of the ancient guild of builders. He takes great pride in his work and learns to overcome his own fear of creating imperfection by taking the advice given to him by Safe Space at Karnak temple.
Lapis is a vulture and the youngest of Little Steps’ three incredible friends. She is initially unsure of who she is, but finds her role and herself on the journey. She loves mango and secretly wishes she was a peacock.
Lapis is ready to help Little Steps soar above it all and to keep him grounded. She is the most intuitive of his friends and always true to her word. Lapis and Little Steps share a wonderful adventure with Professor Zero at Abusir, though her biggest transformation comes when she meets Safe Space to face her own fears.
Safe Space tells Lapis to embrace who she is, not who she thinks she should be in order to conquer her fear of blending in. To find her true colours Lapis must trust her own identity.
Axiom is a centaur and the wisest of Little Steps’ three unique friends. He is the true master of nonsense, yet he also possesses and shares ancient wisdom to guide the team. Axiom’s head is in the clouds, but he prefers to have four feet on the ground and flying is not his idea of fun!
Axiom serves as a guide and mentor to Little Steps and is always there to help Little Steps to wise up throughout their adventure. Axiom is able to translate the wisdom of the ages written on the temple walls and is the natural storyteller of the group. He discovers that breaking a tale down so that everyone can understand it is the key to storytelling and with a voice rich like silk he is able to captivate an audience. Axiom’s storytelling is put to the test at the Closing Ceremony in Deir-el-Bahari.
